MK Publishers won a tender to supply textbooks to Kenyan schools.

The company’s general manager, Ronald Majwega, said on Wednesday they were selected to supply 14 titles for primary and secondary syllabi.

The Kenyan textbooks market is worth $24m (sh48b).

MK which is represented in Kenya by Phoenix publishers did not win the tender to supply books worth $24m as we reported on Saturday.

However, its market share will depend on how hard its marketing team works, Majwega said.

The marketing manager, Robert Mulumba, listed the selected titles as MK primary science for standards one, two, five and six, MK/Phoenix primary mathematics for standards two and five and MK Christian Religious Education for standard two.

Mulumba said they would supply English textbooks for standard six, secondary schools chemistry, biology and agriculture textbooks for form one and physics textbooks.
