INTERNATIONAL Boxing Federation (IBF) junior middleweight number one contender Kassim “The Dream” Ouma (right) has finally landed a title eliminator with his biggest rival Juan Carlos Candelo slated for January 3.

The eliminator has been dragging on ever since the Ugandan fighter became the top contender on the IBF ratings.

Candelo is contender two and the winner of this fight will become the mandatory challenger to IBF junior middleweight champion Ronald “Winky” Wright.

Promoter Art Pelullo/ Banner Promotions said Thursday; “We’re very pleased that J. C. Candelo will fight Kassim Ouma in the co-feature on January 3. It’s a terrific match - two top Jr. middleweight contenders in an IBF eliminator 12 round schedule to determine the IBF’s number-one ranking and mandatory challenger for world champion Wright.

Ouma is undefeated in his last eleven fights (9-0-1 1 no decision) which include wins against Angel Hernandez, Verno Phillips and Alex Bunema with his record standing at 18-1-1(12 KOs). IBF ranks him number one, WBC number four, The Ring magazine six and WBA, 11.

The Colombian opponent performed tremendously well in his recent fights. Now 27-5-3 with 19 knockouts, Candelo is coming off a knockout win in his last fight on July 26 against Julio Garcia.

Candelo is ranked by IBF number two, WBC six, WBO seven and number eight by Ring magazine and WBA.

In a recent interview on Boxingtalk.net, Ouma said: “They gave Candelo a shot because he is another sissy. Candelo is talking s-t about me; I am going to whoop his a-e. I ‘m not a talker, and I don’t talk sh-t about nobody. I just wait, I’m not sleeping, I’m watching.”

Ouma has been heralded as the greatest talent of the weight division, which includes great fighters like Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley and Fernando Vargas.
