Where are jobs for science and maths teachers?

I am a teacher of mathematics and science in upper primary.

Some time back, President Yoweri Museveni made a promise that teachers of science and mathematics were going to be on market. In my view, this is the backbone of the current policy in secondary schools whereby science subjects are now compulsory and in primary teachers colleges only students who did sciences at O-level are given priority in admission.

It surprises me that many websites in the UK advertise jobs for teachers of mathematics and science but our government has got no systematic policy to enable such people go and work.

The Government claims to have ready employment for successful primary teachers in UPE schools but arranging for interviews to recruit teachers in the Government is a pie in the sky. If they are held at all, getting on the payroll usually takes “son of who”, yet some of us
are not children of
the well connected.
