After 15 sittings, vote the 34 out!

SIR— The recent move by MPs from northern and north-eastern Uganda not to represent their people in Parliament until the Government “does something about the war” is pathetic.

SIR— The recent move by MPs from northern and north-eastern Uganda not to represent their people in Parliament until the Government “does something about the war” is pathetic. These MPs have never openly condemned the LRA crimes against humanity.
I do not think this will help the current situation. True, the people of that region have suffered beyond what words can describe. For the MPs in the north to use this suffering as a chance for politicking is disgraceful.
This Government has done a lot to try and end the insurgency. Look at the Betty Bigombe talks, the more recent peace team (which had many of these MPs). Look at the President even leaving his home and family and living in the troubled areas to direct the fight against these terrorists. Kony has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he cannot talk peace (What do you say to a man who butchers innocent children?). Let’s join hands and save the situation. After the mandatory 15 sittings are missed by these MPs, their seats should be declared vacant.
