RESIDENTS of Arua district recently praised out-going Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Dr. Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo for his anti-homosexuality stance.
This was contained in resident district commissioner Thomas Okoth Nyalulu’s speech during Nkoyooyo’s farewell visit to the district.
Nyalulu said the high levels of poverty threatened to dent the believers’ faith.
He asked Nkoyooyo to continue mobilising the society through the cooperative movement to fight poverty.
Nyalulu said religious leaders should lead in building morals in society.
Nkoyooyo hailed the Government for tarmacking the 76km Arua-Nebbi road, which he said would promote trade.
The district chairman, Leon Candia, said Nkoyooyo promoted peace and education in the country.
