Internal Security Organisation (ISO) chief Col Elly Kayanja (right) has launched a replica of the Wembley Operation in northern Uganda.
“Dwogo Paco (come back) Operation†was launched yesterday in Gulu. Present were the Gulu district chairman Walter Ochora and Gulu resident district commissioner.
“This is another Wembley Operation. The only difference is that this aims at returning home hundreds of children abducted and still in captivity of (LRA) rebels,†Kayanja said yesterday.
He said the operation had the blessing of MPs from Acholi region, local councillors, religious leaders and opinion leaders.
Army spokesman Major Shaban Bantariza yesterday said, “There is already visible military achievements in the north. Col. Kayanja is taking advantage of those achievements which we are consolidating now.
“The result of military achievements there is the peace and calm in the Acholi region,†he said.
