AMERICAN singer Cornell Stone and model Misha’el Adonijah Ricks arrived yesterday for the House of Kaine fashion show at Munyonyo today, reports Denis Jjuuko.
House of Kaine is the brainchild of Natasha Karugire, President Yoweri Museveni’s daughter.
Misha’el, who is accompanied by dad Francis Ricks, said, “I am excited. President Museveni is going to see me do my stuff. It is going to be a memorable night for all of us,” she said.
They came with their manager, Liesa Butler, the president of Divah Entertainment Label of Washington DC.
“I am honoured to be home among my very own people. This is my first time in Africa and I am ready to fire up the fashion show,” Stone said at Entebbe Airport.
“We are here to spot talent as well. We hope that at the end of our five days in Uganda we shall be able to sign some Ugandan artistes to our label,” Butler said.
She said she wanted to promote African artistes and that Ugandan singers have the chance to be managed by a professional firm. “I have been told Jose Chameleon, Bebe Cool and Pastor George (Okudi) are so popular here. We are looking forward to meeting them together with the other artistes,” she said.
Stone boasts of one album which has got 13 songs. The album, has sold many copies in America and the 28-year-old singer has written and produced two songs for rhythm and blues superstar Usher Raymond on his upcoming album, which Usher says, will make him immortal.
Stone will release his second album, Best of Both Worlds, in February.
