PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has said the Government is committed to total professionalisation of the army to ensure continued security and safety of all Ugandans and their property.
Lt. Gen. Museveni made the remarks on Friday at the UPDF senior and command college in Jinja, where he witnessed the hand-over of the former commandant, Col. Benon Biraro to his successor, Brig. Ivan Koreta.
A statement from State House said Museveni, who is also the commander-in-chief of the UPDF, said the establishment of the college coupled with the existing training facilities would make Uganda realise its dream of a well trained and professional force.
On his way, Museveni made stop-overs and addressed residents of Mbiko, Mukono town council and Nakawa division, Kampala.
