Namboole to catch fire of God’s praise

If you missed the maiden Passover festival held last year at Namboole, do not worry. Here is another chance for you

If you missed the maiden Passover festival held last year at Namboole, do not worry. Here is another chance for you, writes Elvis Basudde.

Yes, due to public demand and the blessings that came with the 2002 gospel festival, Balokole have decided to organise yet another one. This time, the largest outdoor Passover festival ever seen in the land.

Tomorrow, December 31, at Namboole Stadium, the festival will kick off as early as 10:00am and will thankfully sendoff the old year and usher in the new one.

According to Pastor Joseph Sserwadda (above)of Victory Christian Centre church, Ndeeba, who is also the acting chairman of the National Fellowship of the Born-Again Churches (NFBAC) in Uganda, the purpose of the festival is thanksgiving and breakthrough.

“We shall be empowered, strengthened and given an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to the Lord for this passing year. But more so, we shall lay our plans and destinations before God so that they may be realised this coming year,” he says. The meeting will be called ‘Okuyitibwa okutukuvu’–– the holy convocation.

The festival will feature over 600 Pentecostal pastors and a galaxy of upstart and well-known local gospel artistes, led by Kora Award winner, Pastor George Okudi.

Pastor Jamada of Impact Radio Lunch-hour programme says the festival will be a turning point for many Ugandans.

“Namboole will definitely catch fire with praise, worship, miracles, transformation and of course music,” he says.

Dr Nsababutulo, the minister of information and Broadcasting, a born-again himself, has urged all Christians and non-Christians alike to go to Namboole.
