UOC go to polls March 31
OLYMPICS-Whether the national federations will opt for a new executive for the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) will be known on January 31 when the body convenes its elective assembly.
Active sports bodies will meet in the quadrennial assembly which must come not more than six months after the Olympic Games. It will take place at Grand Imperial Hotel starting 9am. Committee secretary Gabriel Oloka yesterday confirmed that he had dispatched invitations to all the relevant federations, requesting them to send in their representatives. They have also to nominate their candidates for elective positions two weeks to that date. It is not yet clear whether UOC president Maj. Gen. Francis Nyangweso was going to stand for re-election yesterday.

UFLC to visit league pitches
SOCCER-The Uganda Super League Committee (USLC) will re-inspect some of the stadiums that are hosting local league matches over the weekend before the second round gets underway. Ntenjeru, Kakyeka, Lira and Masindi stadiums - all with bad records, had been scheduled for this week. However committee head Patrick Ssebuliba said that it had to be postponed as most of the officials were busy with the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.
“Inspection will definitely be this weekend to give owners ample time to rectify any existing problems.”
