Do not show people your underwear

Okay there is something going wrong and I mean seriously wrong. Our sisters showing off their G-strings, is one thing.

Okay there is something going wrong and I mean seriously wrong. Our sisters showing off their G-strings, is one thing.

But now even the brothers want to start showing off their underwear. What has the world been reduced to?

There are some people who can get away with it like the American rapper, 50 or our own Bebe Cool. But for the rest of us, even those young teenage boys who would like to think that they are straight out of a gangsta rap video, we do not want to see you underwear. Period.

We do not even care if you a wearing fake Calvin Klein’s. Men’s underwear – be it boxer shorts, Y-fronts, thongs or whatever it is that you wear is something private. Do not show it. It is for you alone.

Alas. Today, many people do not think so. Today’s teenagers think they are hip when they show off their underwear which I might add has not been washed for days.

When they walk around town with their jeans half way down their butts is a pure sign of village mentality, an uncouth person and somebody with a poor upbringing.

And to make matters even worse, nowdays, there are many older men, those corporate types and who should know better, can now be seen strutting around the rugby club on a Friday or Saturday showing off their boxers.

What is the purpose I ask myself? And if the young people are not doing it, then some of the old men have picked up the habit too. Well not on purpose but by default.

There are some men, especially those people who like to be called ‘honorable’ simply because they are Members of Parliament, who have a nasty habit of tucking their shirts into their underwear and not their trousers.

Honorable, listen here, it is uncouth because when you do that, your underwear will start peeping though the waist band of your trousers.

If anything, I do not think it is not too much trouble to take yourself to the washrooms and tuck in properly.
