Govt is not to blame

Whereas I sympathise with the conned ugandans, I believe it is not the duty of government to carry the burden of the loss. The unfortunate people were duped by fellow Ugandans who were not sent by the Government, but were trusted by the victims basing on the fact that they were perhaps registered with the NGO board.

The only thing the government can do is to take tough measures to arrest, prosecute and punish the perpetrators and deregister organisations that cheat citizens. When a bank is robbed, it would be ridiculous for that bank’s manager to ask the government to pay back the stolen money.

It is not fair or reasonable because it is not the government to blame.
