AFTER capturing footage on a digital video camera, one’s next worry would be the hassle of editing and transferring the footage onto a DVD, using computer video editing software. However, with the introduction of the Sony DVD direct recorder on the Ugandan market, there is no need for complex computer software anymore.

The new recorder referred to by its manufacturers as the world’s first AVCHD format recorder, is capable of direct DVD video recording from a hard disc or different digital camera memory cards without need of a computer.

Connect a device containing the recorded footage, say a memory card reader or camcorder, to this recorder using a USB cable and power it using the start button.

On the screen, you can view the entire footage you are about to record. Insert the disc in the recorder disc tray and you will be prompted to format the disc by the recorder to erase anything that might be on the disc before it is recorded.

Thereafter, the recording of your footage would be complete in a matter of minutes by the touch of a single button on top of the recorder.

Another advantage of the Sony DVD recorder is the ability to do simple editing.
With this recorder, video-sharing between family and friends becomes easy as it is quicker and reliable.

The recorder can also be a good business product, targeting people on the move like party goers who would want quick copies of the function they feature in on DVD.

The Sony recorder goes for shs.600,000 with a one year warranty at Sony World on Kampala road.
