LAST year, many singers won our hearts with nice tracks. Notable among them was a UK-based Ugandan, Myco Chris.

He released the addictive Zino Ennaku, featuring Mozey Radio and Weasel.
Now the follow-up single, Kabiite Wange, which is a tale of a man who has fallen head over heels in love, promises to be even better.

The song comes off Myco’s forthcoming album entitled Obulamu, which he hopes to launch in Kampala next month.
Myco co-wrote Kabiite Wange with Kuklee, OJ and Mozey Radio and Weasel.

He produced the song himself at his London-based Offbeat Studios.
Lyrically, there is nothing new about this song, but Myco’s brilliant blend of Afro-beat, dancehall and R&B makes it worth our attention.

The singer has also done the remix of Kabiite Wange, which is purely R&B, but it is impossible not to feel that there is something a bit...well...wrong about reducing such a good song to karaoke pop status.

Myco started his music career with the likes of Chagga, Rutty Martin and the Germany-based Omuana Isaac in the mid 1990s.
