Mbidde plots for national body
SOCCER - Newly-elected SC Villa fans’ coordinator Dennis Mbidde has drawn a programme, which is aimed at stabilising the different fans’ clubs across the country. He wants a national body put in place. Mbidde, who replaced Emmanuel Misagga last week, says that the programme will focus on consultation with the fans themselves and ask them why they no longer turn up for local matches and their suggestions.

Volleyball body schedule out

VOLLEYBALL - The Commissioner for sports in the ministry of Education and Sports Dan Tamwesigire launched the 2009 Uganda Volleyball Federation activity Calendar at Lugogo on Saturday.
According to the calender, the season begins with transfer of players this month followed by the elective general assembly on February 15 at Lugogo. It will end with a corporate beach volleyball tournament at Lido Beach, Entebbe.

Ministry to help student players

VOLLEYBALL - Sports commissiner Dan Tamwesigire has asked the local volleyball federation to form a data base for S.6 student and university players so that they can benefit from assistance from the ministry. “Mr. President, I do not know if you have a data base for student players. However I urge you to put up one for S.6 and university players so that we can assist them,” he advised.
