NOT even sickness during the examinations could prevent Ronald Sseremba from excelling.
“I had severe stomachache and headache in the course of doing my examinations, but did not give up my ambition for excellence. I remained focused and hopeful,†Sseremba said.
He was the best student from Light Secondary and Vocational School Bulenga with aggregate 13.
The 16-year-old boy thanked the school director, Joseph Mbuga, for paying much of his school fees.
“Our family is very poor. My father, Peter Mweruka, who had failed to my fees is a butcher. If the school had not helped me, I would not have completed,†Sseremba said.
He believed it was the frequent consultations he made with teachers during school days and holidays that set him apart from his fellow students. “Besides consultations, I frequently visited the library and made my own research so that I could have more than what I got in class,†he said.
