I felt relieved on seeing her because she was of my ideal size. She was excited to see me, welcoming me with a wide smile. The whole evening was generally wonderful and we enjoyed the place. I told her I studied in Rwanda for my secondary school, before joining a catering school in Kabale. My first trip to Kampala was in 2004 when I visited my uncle in Kawempe.
We also watched a movie. She asked why I was taking part in a blind date and I told her I was looking for a friend.
She told me she liked music and dancing, especially local Ugandan music and reggae. She said she used to have a boyfriend while still at school.
I told her I was also single and searching and that we could become friends. She just smiled. She was somewhat shy on talking about love. But since we were meeting for the first time, I did not want to go deeper into the topic.
As she was leaving, I gave her a hug and wished her a goodnight.
What struck you most about her?
I liked her height, size and the fact that she likes music.
And what you weren’t comfortable with?
Her taste of music is different from mine; I prefer hip hop.
Any plans of meeting again?
We exchanged contacts and agreed to keep in touch. I am just waiting for her invitation before I get to know where she lives.

It was very interesting and we had lots to talk about. I asked if he goes clubbing and he said he does, sometimes. I told him I had a talent in dancing and had competed and won prizes in many competitions. He encouraged me, saying it is my gift that will sell me.
When I asked why he had come on a mystery date, he said he was single and searching. I just laughed. He asked me to see where he stays but I promised to go there some other time. He also promised to visit me over the weekend.
Did you like him?
Yeah, he was a charming guy.
Anything you didn’t like about him?
He was somewhat shy.
What plans do you have for him?
I know he will be my friend.
What about if he wants a serious relationship?
We first have to get to know each other more; so it will depend on how we like each other’s character.
How do you plan to study him?
I’ll soon visit him and when I get to know his friends, I can tell what type of person he is.
