FARMERS in Amuria district received a donation of 20 oxen and 10 ox-ploughs from Stanbic Bank Soroti branch recently. Stanbic Eastern regional manager Peter Oola Epila Atima said the bank spent about sh11m on the bulls and ploughs. “Every commercial institution should have the social responsibility of giving back to the public in one way or the other,†he said. Amuria administrative officer Christom Kayise said the intervention was timely, as rains had started.
Five thugs arrested
MBARARA - THE Police and LDUs have arrested five suspected thugs. They are Wilson twinoburamu alias Black, Moses Arinaitwe, Sande bainomugisha, Richard Byabagye and Richard Tusingwiire. The gang was arrested at the Independence Park on Tuesday, the district Police chief, Ivan Nskwasibe, said.
