Our dad was referred to Mulago on January 25 with a heart problem. We were very worried considering the stories we have heard about the hospital.
However, to our surprise, things turned out to be much better than we ever anticipated.
Although we arrived just before 4:00am there was a doctor, a nurse and a records person on duty to attend to us immediately. The old man was admitted and given some treatment that night. The following day, he was transferred to ward 4C.
Without a single bribe, the doctors and nurses kept checking on all the patients daily. Several laboratory tests were done on him free of charge. Even more expensive tests like electrocardiogram and echocardiogram, were free.
There were also some drugs that he received free of charged on Tuesday in good condition. I thank all the staff of Mulago and this is a testimony that Mulago Hospital is not as bad as it is painted in the media. Micah Mubeezi Nakulabye
