PRECIOUS Mwebesa of Nakanyonyi Girls School in Jinja district did her exams when she was on medication

PRECIOUS Mwebesa of Nakanyonyi Girls School in Jinja district did her exams when she was on medication, writes Esther Mukyala.

The 16-year-old got aggregate 19 and emerged the second-best student in her school.

She said: “I lost my book of summaries and I cried a lot. This stressed me and I developed a serious headache which only subsided when I was put on drip.”
Mwebesa sat the Geography, History and English exams while on drip and she expected to get a second grade.

“I was worried about Mathematics because I had a pass eight in the mocks but I was surprised to get a distinction one in the finals,” she said.

Mwebesa, who wants to do Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics at Gayaza High School, attributed her success to her teachers and her mother, Lydia Namuwaya, who encouraged her.
