KARAMOJA - The army planted 2,000 trees in Karamoja sub-region as part of activities to mark the army week. The acting 3rd Division spokesman, Lt. Caesar Olweny, last week said: “Being a semi-arid region, we preferred to plant trees to show the people how to improve the climate,” Olweny said.

Oyo warns the youth on HIV

JINJA - King Oyo Kabamba Iguru has urged the youth to fight poverty and HIV/AIDS. In a speech read by the kingdom’s Prime Minister, William Nyakatura, Oyo told the over 300 youth at the conference centre on Saturday that it would be irresponsible for them to engage in unprotected sex when messages of HIV/AIDS prevention were everywhere in the mass media.
