OVER 200 residents of Manyangwa in Nangabo sub-county, Wakiso district are in panic over a land wrangle.

The row is over ownership of mailoland on Block 178, plots 403 and 413 between Fredrick Wasswa Kalibala and Edward
Sempala of Janmer Investments.

Kalibala, the prime owner of the land measuring about 640 acres, claims that he only sold part of his land to Sam Wabasa.

In a letter dated November 7, 2008, Kalibala said he sold plots 710, 712, 719, 721, 746 and 748 measuring about 248 acres to Wabasa.

The remaining part, he added, was still his land.

However, Janmer Investments also claims ownership of the land.

The contention resulted into a civil suit filed in 2005.

Despite a standing court case, Janmer sold part of the contested land to Samuel Walusimbi, who now wants the residents evicted, according to the residents’ lawyers.
