CHAMPIONS Uganda telecom Kobs, who have enjoyed high score victories in the past four weeks, encounter their first test against G4S Pirates in the Super 8 Rugby League at Kampala Club today.

Kobs new coaches Ronnie Kaddu and Geoffrey Mabonga having registered comfortable wins over ‘lightweights’ Nile, Toyota Mongers, Hima Impis and Rhino will have their tactics under scrutiny in what is expected to be a mouthwatering Kampala Club derby.

Pirates have struggled to register slim victories over Entebbe Mongers (22-17) and Rhinos (13-7) despite assembling a much stronger squad this season.

But it would be foolhardy to judge Pirates’ by the unconvincing form. Pirates, now coached by Brian Makalama normally up their game when they come up against highly rated teams.

The first big game of the season will be preceded by an encounter between Rhino and Heathens.
