A Senegalese girl, Gassama Bintu, emerged the best female student at Lubiri Secondary School in last year’s A’level examinations.

Bintu, who did Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Technical drawing, scored ACBA3, securing 22 points.

She attributed her success to her teachers, saying they were committed to their work.

“My teachers always encouraged us to read hard,” she added.

Bintu wants to pursue Civil Engineering.

“After my course, I will go back to Senegal and work in my grandfather’s factory,” said Bintu, who came to Uganda with her parents when she was only three.
