Moses Kipsiro fell one second short of a $10,000 (sh19.9m) bonus for runners who complete below 28 minutes in the World Best 10km Road Run in Sun Juan, Puerto Rico Sunday afternoon. The World 5000m bronze medalist finished fifth, squeezing himself between seven Kenyan top finishers.

The National Schools Basketball Association (NASBA) has confirmed Nabisunsa and Kyambogo College will host the schools basketball championships due next month. Meanwhile Kibuli’s Mathew Kayondo starred for the boys’ side with a last second basket to help the former national champions to a 34-32 win in the finals of the NASBA all stars basketball championships over hosts Ndejje SS and deny the hosts the first 2009 trophy.

Bidco receive zonal trophy
- Jinja’s Zone 10 soccer league champions Bidco finally received their trophy on Saturday. FUFA Jinja delegate Mohammed Faissal handed over the trophy to the Bidco team after an exbihition match between Bidco and Buwenge which ended up in a 1-1. Faisal advised the zonal representatives to the mini-league due in Kamuli to stay united.
