THE need for an early goal at Nakivubo tomorrow has forced KCC coach George Nsimbe to readjust from their regular 4-4-2 formation to a more attacking 4-3-3 against a side he feels could be defensively suspect.

THE need for an early goal at Nakivubo tomorrow has forced KCC coach George Nsimbe to readjust from their regular 4-4-2 formation to a more attacking 4-3-3 against a side he feels could be defensively suspect.
“I watched their defeat to Pirates. They are physically strong, tall and fast on the ball but extremely suspect at the back,†the coach said after watching a recording of Pirates’ Saturday victory over SuperSport in the Nedbank Cup final.
“They tend to lose concentration in key defensive areas and we will definitely take advantage of that,†Nsimbe stated.
“We need an early goal and that’s the formation we feel will serve us best. We need to take advantage of their defensive weaknesses by having numbers around the 18-yard each time we get forward and I am sure it will pay off.â€
Nsimbe’s insights will certainly relieve KCC FC faithful, who had been alarmed by the club coach’s earlier confession of having no clue on how his opponents play.
“I know what to do. I now know what to expect,†he added.
KCC’s revised formation will have Ronald Kamoga occupying the holding role, with Patrick Senfuka and Jeremiah Sebuyiira seated ahead of him in more offensive roles in a three-man midfield.
Brian Umony, Robert Ssentongo and Anthony Bongole will then lead the club’s attacking lines.
SuperSport boss Gavin Hunt is meanwhile also confident he has all he needs to know about KCC ahead of Friday’s CAF Champions League fixture.
Hunt said: “I expect them to come at us ...At home they look a bit of a handful but I reckon we can handle them.â€
SuperSport’s 24-man contingent arrived in the country yesterday and is accommodated at the five-star Sheraton Hotel.
Meanwhile, SC Villa won the Women’s Day Cup edging rivals Express 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out at Wankulukuku yesterday, adds Norman Katende. Andrew Nkurunungi levelled for the Jogoos after the Red Eagles won the first leg 1-0.
