Lusambya dares Briton in title tune-up

AFRICA light middleweight champion Badru “Mr. Crush†Lusambya returns to the ring on Sunday in a make or break fight against Britain’s Chas “Croydon Bomber†Symonds at the York Hall, Bethnal Green in London.

AFRICA light middleweight champion Badru “Mr. Crush†Lusambya returns to the ring on Sunday in a make or break fight against Britain’s Chas “Croydon Bomber†Symonds at the York Hall, Bethnal Green in London.
The fight will be the first for the Ugandan fighter and is a Commonwealth tune-up which has a significant bearing to his career.
It is six months since Lusambya (18-0-1, 16 KOS) last fought.
Symonds is a relatively unknown fighter with a record of (14-2-0, 5 KOS). He is ranked 32 in Britain in the welterweight division.
Lusambya was in bullish mood ahead of his first fight in the New Year.
“I have learnt the best lessons here that fights are not won in the ring on the day; they are won right from the preparations,†Lusambya said. “If the preparations are poor, then the fight itself is going to be bad and poor.â€
The Ugandan prize fighter has been working on his endurance, speed and power in the winter ahead of the big test on Sunday.
The fight is being promoted by Left Jab Promotions that is owned by British Member of Parliament Miranda Carter.
