HE came into the limelight two years ago with his monster hit, Double Bed Mazongoto. After the success of the song, Dr Hilderman kept on racking up a string of tracks — Malembe, Kampe, Mukintu and Campus Gal.
Double Bed Mazongoto could have been a huge success, but some critics think Campus Gal has the singer at his best.
“I think Campus Gal is a more sensible song and cuts across compared to Mazongoto,†says Betina, a music critique.
The song is the title track of Dr Hilderman’s latest nine-song album, which arrived in Kampala music stores recently. Other songs on the album include Zungulube, Wesunangako, Bujjulizi, Kimpemempeme and East African Lady.
Dr Hilderman will launch Campus Gal on May 1 at Sabrina’s Pub. Entrance fee is sh10,000. He will also hold other concerts at Mityana Grounds on May 2 and Ssese Gateway Beach on May 3.
