THE East Africa Dairy Development (EADD) project has donated a 5,000-litre milk cooler to Kiboga West Livestock Cooperative Society. William Mukani, the director of animal resources in the animal husbandry ministry, said the plant would boost milk production and trade.
“There will be no more milk wastage. “Dairy farmers’ livelihood will also be transformed,†Patrick Nalere, the country director of Heifer International-EADD, said during the launch of at Kyankwanzi trading centre last week.
The plant will benefit 1,300 farmers in Kiboga district and the surrounding areas. The farmers also got a 33kv generator and other accessories.
The cooperative has over 560 farmers.
