EDITOR—Mourning the senior presidential adviser the late Ezra Kikuri in Bushenyi, President Museveni said: “I had organised for Kikuri to be flown to India for treatment but he died before he could be taken.
I convinced him to go out for treatment but he was reluctant. I later understood that he wanted to first put his house to order.†Mr. President, like the late Kikuri’s brother William Mukaira said, there would be no need to fly Kikuri to India for treatment had Mulago Hospital been well equipped to handle such cases.
Is it not cheaper to revamp our hospitals so that everybody can be treated here than flying only VIPs and other dignitaries abroad? Let us broaden the scope of patriotism that you are teaching by providing healthcare services to Ugandans. Ntegye Asiimwe Oslo-Norway
