SUPREME Court judge George Kanyeihamba has advised ministers, who are dissatisfied with the way the country is being managed to resign.

He urged the ministers to emulate Kenya’s justice minister Martha Karua who resigned recently, citing her frustration at the government’s failure to reform.

“She may have been partisan during elections, but I admire her. People should have a conscience,” Kanyeihamba said.

He was speaking at a public lecture on constitutionalism and good governance at Makerere University on Tuesday.

He expressed concern that corruption had become widespread despite the existing laws on the vice.

“What Uganda needs is not a new law, but the will. We make eloquent speeches, but when time to bite comes, we go underground,” he said.

Prof. Aaron Mukwaya, a lecturer at Makerere, advised that the Constitution be amended cautiously.
