UBL appoints new boss
IVO Buratovich is the new managing director of Uganda Breweries (UBL).

IVO Buratovich is the new managing director of Uganda Breweries (UBL).
Buratovich replaces Patricia Ithau who has been the acting managing director for the past nine months.
UBL is a subsidiary of East African Breweries (EABL).
Prior to his appointment, Buratovich was a general manager of Brandhouse South Africa, a division of EABL’s parent company Diageo.
EABL’s group managing director Gerald Mahinda, said: “We are delighted with Ivo’s appointment. We are confident that with his vast international experience, he will lead the company to greater heights.â€
Mahinda said under Ithau’s leadership, UBL had continued to establish itself as a strong market leader with significant results and implemented many major projects.
Buratovich took office effective April 1, while Ithau is now the managing director of EABL Venture.
EABL also owns Kenya Breweries, Central Glass - a glass manufacturer and Kenya Maltings.
