A LOCAL NGO has received sh2b from the American government to refurbish 27 health centres in Acholi and Lango sub-regions. Med Makumbi, an official of the Northern Uganda Malaria, HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (NUMAT), made the disclosure at the commissioning of laboratories at Bobi, Cwero and Patiko health centres III in Gulu district on Thursday.

The NUMAT laboratory manager, Martha Pedun, said six laboratories and HIV/AIDS testing rooms had been completed. “We hope the number of people testing for HIV/AIDS and TB will increase since they will not need to walk long distances to get these services.”
