- Democratic Party president John Ssebana Kizito has offered his residential swimming pool to Ndejje University for training as. Ssebana made his pledge during the sportsman-of-the-year awards at the university in Ndejje on Friday. The university announced they have started building a new pool. Swimmer Max Kanyerezi and badminton player Margarent Nankabirwa were the best in sports for 2008-9.

FMU polls off
- Elections for the local motor-sport governing body FMU have been pushed to June 13 from May 9. According to FMU publicist Hajji Juma Nkambwe, clubs have asked for more time to reorganise themselves. “There are some constitutional requirements that had not been fulfilled before elections, and off course Riyaz’ Kurji’s death was a blow that called for some time off for everyone to mourn,” said Nkambwe.
