Defiler jailed for 15 years

WAKISO - The High Court has sentenced a-60-year-old man to 15 years imprisonment for defiling an eight-year old a girl. Justice John Wilson Kwesiga convicted Mohammad Sennyonjo on Monday, but passed the sentence on Tuesday.

Kweisga hailed the victim for her consistency and intelligence when giving her testimony.
He also agreed with the assessors, Juliet Aligaweesa and Fred Nsereko, who advised him that the prosecution had produced sufficient evidence to convict Sennyonjo including that of the victim. Sennyonjo, a resident of Mwereerwe village, had denied the charge.
