Benny Hinn arrives in Uganda for crusade

THOUSANDS of Christians have thronged Rubaga Miracle Centre to attend a crusade by renowned evangelist Benny Hinn, who jetted into the country Friday morning.
The crusade dubbed “fire conference†will end today with two sessions, at 10:00am and 7:00pm. By 8pm the crowd was estimated at 8,000.
The lower hall, which has a seating capacity of 6,000, was already full while about 2000 people were still in queues.
The host, Pastor Robert Kayanja, led a prayer and worship session as the crowd awaited Hinn. In attendance were numerous other pastors from East and Central Africa.
Kayanja earlier told the press that like other fire conferences, this one would “feature a powerful move of the Holy Spirit, and the in-depth teaching of the Word of God.â€
The purpose of the conference is to teach the leaders of born-again churches, according to Pr. Kayanja.
US-based Trinity Broadcasting Network, the world’s biggest religious television network, was expected to beam the events live to the rest of the world.
Hinn was in Uganda for the first time in 2007 during the Miracle crusade at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, which was attended by thousands of Ugandans.
Born in 1952 in the port city of Jaffa (modern part of Tel Aviv), Israel, Hinn got saved in 1972, during his school time. Currently he is the senior pastor of World Healing Church International based in Irving, Texas.
At Rubaga Hinn is also expected to pray for the sick. He is quoted by Miracle Centre as saying: “Because of what is happening on earth today…, the Lord has laid it strongly on my heart to hold his conference to equip you, as God’s child, for these last days. Our future as the body of Christ is too glorious to describe…â€
From Uganda, Hinn will travel to South Africa, and later the Democratic Republic of Congo.
