IT is, in the words of D-Mark Power technical director Peter Mubanda, “the game Kampala has been waiting forâ€.
Marketing comes naturally to Mubanda and, as a result, he is never far from an exaggeration but his description of tonight’s tussle between Power and the Kyambogo Warriors could not get any more accurate.
After Power’s match against the Falcons, this is the game that everyone has been longing for. That both teams are unbeaten after six matches, with Power only leading the standings because of a better points average, only makes the anticipation higher.
“It is a big game actually,†Warriors president and former coach Ambrose Tashobya acknowledged with a tinge of surprise.
“Of course the team is preparing for it,†he added with an extra bite of the obvious.
“The stakes are high and we hope the players step up and win. We are going to beat Power so we stay number one.â€
Power want to stay number one as well and Mubanda says they will do it which ever way they can.
“Whether we come from behind or go for a blowout, what matters is we win,†he said.
