WHEN local pop artistes Priscilla Kalibbala, Bella Ndagire and Cindy Sanyu set out to do the Girl Power rotations in prominent discotheques countrywide, little did they know their shows would become the talk of town.

Comprising late night performances in discotheques, the shows are meant to reveal the best of the trio’s stage presence.

The trio performed at the Herm Discotheque in Gulu last weekend. Priscilla went on stage first, after midnight, amid a flickering haze of red lights.

She warmed up the crowd with her suave vocals and sensual song, Kwata Woyagala. Couples could not help it, but get intimate on the dance floor.

But the mood changed shortly after her performance when Bella went on stage, wearing hot pants and a tiny top.

As she gyrated, shook and raved, revellers screamed in delight. She sang her latest song, Doi Doi, sending the crowd into a frenzy. The effect on the crowd was overwhelming, as revellers sweated it out on the floor.

She also performed her old song, Kikiri. Though Cindy Sanyu’s first song, Nawewe, did not draw much excitement from the crowd, her latest song, Ayokyayokya, brought the house down.

The single was released recently, but the crowd, largely comprising the youth, sang along as she performed.

Surprised that most people knew the lyrics, she let them sing as she danced. She picked some girls from the crowd and had them dance with her.

Girl Power concerts are set to take place in 20 clubs, culminating in a grand finale in Kampala.
