For the next few weeks, SUUBI NJUKI will explore different ways to use ‘Afrocentric ‘ fabric to achieve an elegant and exotic appearance that is distinctly African. Keep your eyes glued to this space and find a style that defines you!
Leopard
(A beautifully spotted, graceful and adaptable animal, which mainly hunts at night) Be bold and beautiful like the leopard and make the most of tie and dye fabric. The wide colour swathe at the waist creates the illusion of a wasp like waistline and when teamed with trendy wide leg trousers, a balanced silhouette is created.
Fabric Requirements:
This outfit can be made out of linen, khaki, denim, corduroy and any other such cotton fabrics. Ideally the bulkier fabric should be used to make the trousers.
1 ½ metres of double width fabric is needed for the blouse. (Tie and dye pieces with a random pattern are easier to work with)
2-2½metres of double width fabric is needed for the trouser
