RUKUNGIRI-The grade one magistrate, Samuel Twakire, on Friday remanded to prison the district senior personnel officer, Franklin Twinomujuni, until August 4. Twinomujuni was charged with fraud, embezzlement, abuse of office and forgery. Court heard that Twinomujuni had been using his office as head of the salary section to forge documents to embezzle money. The personnel officer is said to have misappropriated sh7m in June this year.
MP calls for vocational skills ISINGIRO-Isingiro South MP Alex Byarugaba has called upon the Government to review the educational system to suit the needs of the people. Byarugaba said there was need to emphasise vocational education because it empowers students with the relevant skills to be self-reliant`. The MP was on Saturday addressing teachers, parents and students of Kyezimbire Secondary School in Isingiro district.
