HE was happy with a wonderful girlfriend whom he had dated for years. The only little thing that bothered him was the beautiful maid, an S.6 leaver and a relative of the wife, who had been brought to help with the house chores.
“She wore tight miniskirts and went about her work bra-less. She always bent down near me,†my colleague confessed.
She knew the effect she had on him. One day, when he was already at work, the maid called him, claiming she was alone at home.
She was bold enough to say she wanted to sleep with him only once before he got married and committed. Though in total shock at her boldness, he did what many men would do under the circumstances.
He jumped into his car and drove home. Like he had anticipated, he found her in a revealing dress.
When he had gone back to the car to pick something, he met his future wife, some relatives and her friends outside, all clapping!
With tears in her eyes, his future mother-in-law said: “We are very happy that you have passed our little test, son. We are proud of you. You are Mr. Right for our beautiful daughter. Welcome to the family.â€
Even though many men never declare having a secret affair with a female househelp, many have been nabbed red handed tip-toeing toward the maids in the dead of the night, only to pretend they were sleep walking!
Is it surprising that a recent survey about housewives and maids published in Sunday Vision showed that maids were actually wives in the closet? No further debate. The issue is, as a total man, how can you ward off the temptation?
Juma, a special hire driver doesn’t need to beat the temptation. He believes maids are god-sent.
“They are sexual gems, who are good at studying one’s moods and give you what you want,†he says.
“Give a dog food and you’ll become its master. It will never bark at you,†he argues.
For 28-year-old Phillip, employing a non-resident maid from a reputable firm, he thought, would settle everything.
The maid from the Nsambya-based Good Samaritan never worked as anticipated.
He might have thwarted her sexual overtures, but it never stopped her having sex with other people in his house.
Getting an elderly maid did not help. “I couldn’t instruct her. It appears I paid her to instruct me. The maid even chased away some of my dates without consulting me,†Phillip narrates.
Though some advise only to stay away from home until your wife is present, hiring naive maids, male househelps or even relatives, I have since discovered the strongest tool in fighting temptation is your own face.
Whenever at home, always wear a ‘serious face’, something Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe brings out well. It has worked for me; it could work for you as well.
