EDITOR—I am not happy that all efforts to get a solution to the Banyoro-Bafuruki issue is almost failing. The chaos in Kibale and Bunyoro in general is entirely being fuelled by some top political figures in the region who clandestinely use the youth to accomplish their selfish ends.
Because of this, we have failed to meet the President in spite of all our pleas through his political assistants.
Why do these politicians think they are above the law? We can no longer allow blood-shed in Bunyoro. We shall protect our land and we have already formed a pressure group called Banyoro-Bafuruki Reconciliation and Development Agency (BBREDA).
Bunyoro cannot remain on tenterhooks when the rest of Uganda is peaceful. We appeal to the President to consider talking to the youth in Bunyoro region because talking to politicians alone may not ensure peace in the region.
