ARUA people are reaping from the vehicle and asset finance show, an official from the organising team has revealed. Paul Ssebaduka of Africa Motors and Machinery, speaking during the second vehicle and asset finance show at Arua Police grounds last week, said the previous show had registered tremendous success.

“Initially, these people had no time to enter showrooms to purchase assets like vehicles that can enhance their businesses. But after the show last year, they came and requested to acquire vehicles,” Ssebaduka said.

The event that included free test-driving was organised by Stanbic Bank, Phoenix Assurance, Shell Uganda and Africa Motors and Machinery.

Tony Ayeny Otim, Stanbic Bank’s northern regional manager, said they had earmarked funds to help interested businesspersons acquire vehicles and other assets.

He said the loan repayment terms were made friendlier to enable more people embrace the facility. The bank can also finance acquisition of other assets like medical equipment, Otim said.

Some of the truck models that can be accessed through the show are Isuzu, Chevrolet, Challenger and Perkins. So far, three buses and two heavy duty trucks had been given out to different businessmen under the arrangement, Otim added.
