SHE is better known to Ugandan television viewers as Luisa Fernanda, a lead character in the telenovela La Hija del Jardinero (The Gardener's Daughter), as a young and naive woman who falls in love with the rich doctor Carlos Eduardo. Mariana Ochoa Reyes was born in 1979, in Mexico City.
She began her formal training at the age of three, taking ballet and tap dancing lessons. At nine, Mariana began her professional career as a member of the musical group La Onda Vaselina.
The success led to the recording of several albums and the once children group evolved into one of Mexico's largest pop groups later called OV7. Once the group decided to call it quits, Reyes immediately pursued her dream of acting and began taking classes.
La Hija del Jardinero was her first acting project and it was taped in 2003. It turned out to be a huge success.
Following La Hija del Jardinero, Mariana recorded her first solo album titled Yo soy (I am) which toped the Mexican charts and led to a successful tour.
In 2005, following the momentum of the album, Mariana began her second telenovela, Top Models.
She is currently recording her second album with Warner Music Mexico.
