THE hearing of the sh900m theft case against Juliet Katusiime, the wife of the National Forestry Authority boss, has been fixed for December 3.

The case was to be heard yesterday but Katusiime’s lawyer Bob Kasango told court that he was not ready to proceed because prosecution had not given him copies of witnesses statements and exhibits that the state intends to produce during the trial.

“We are not prepared to the extent that we do not know the case against our client. We need to prepare to cross examine the witnesses,” Kasango said.

Katusiime was last month charged with three counts of theft in relation to the sh900m that her husband says she stole from their home in Naguru, Kampala.

When Katusiime appeared before Sarah Mponye, the City Hall magistrate on Oct-19, she denied the charges and was released on bail.

On the first count, Katusiime is accused of stealing sh100m from her husband, Damian Akankwasa.

On the second, she is accused of stealing sh400m belonging to her brother-in-law, George William Akankwasa, while on the third count, she is accused of stealing sh400m from another brother-in-law, John Bagambe.

Damian was among the witnesses summoned to testify against his wife.
