THE big picture is always shaped by small details. For their part, Budonians (old girls and boys of King’s College, Budo) have coined words like ‘benda’ meaning a person, who eats excessively.

There is also ‘pocketing’ meaning shying away from over eating or anything seen to be out of order.

But Budonians have not forgotten to contribute to building society. That is why they will turn up at the fundraising dinner to aid Buddo Junior School on December 5 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

Edward Sekabanja Kato, the president of the Old Budonians Club, says the fundraising is aimed at raising sh500m for the construction of a classroom block at Buddo Junior School and completion of the King’s college Buddo swimming pool.

Invitation cards are on sale at sh150,000.

Budonians hope the president’s ball will be a spring board to attract big numbers to contribute to their noble cause.

The swimming pool will replace the distant Nansove pool which has been taken over by reptiles and frogs, denying Budonians their “aquatic rights.”

According to Bakka Male, the headmaster of King’s College Buddo, the school has lived to the expectations of its founders, producing excellent professionals in many fields. It also cultivates the values of honesty and hard work.

The ball will be a chance for a reunion and merry making. There will also be blackberry phones up for grabs.
