Nabukeera, now a student at St. Lawrence Secondary School, has been under the care of Gashumba since 2006.
He started fundraising for a plastic surgery at the Shriner’s Children Hospital, in Texas, USA for Nabukeera whose skin was badly creased.
About sh66m would be required for operational expenses. Sh30m was reportedly raised from the public, the President inclusive but Nabukeera has never left because the money is not enough.
But now Nakandi, who has been residing at Gashumba’s residence in Konge, Makindye, since August 2006, says she is not interested in the operation anymore and wants the money to build a house.
She, however, wants Gashumba to retain responsibility for Nabukeera. But snoops say Gashumba insists the money for an operation and if Nakandi is not interested, he will donate it to Sanyu Babies’ Home or Katelemwa Cheshire Home.
