HAVING a beautiful face is every girl’s dream. Here’s how to achieve it without running broke.

Steam your face
l Wash the face with water. Then gently rub your face with cotton wool soaked in either lemon or tomato juice, salt water, or tea.

l Put hot water in a basin and steam your face for 15 minutes and wash again. Eunice Muganga, a beautician at Beauty Tips Salon, on Buganda Road, says steaming makes the face tender and opens pores so that your skin can breathe.

Scrub your face
Muganga says scrubbing is vital in removing dirt.

l Cleanse and tone the face. Toning involves using a cotton ball soaked in either salt water or lime.
l Scrub your face using pounded rice, maize flour and millet. This can be done once or twice a month.
l Moisturise your face using the skin care products you have.

Apply face mask
This can be done once or twice a month. After cleansing and scrubbing, you can get a face mask. For dry skins, use bananas and avocados. And for oily ones, use egg whites and honey as masks. Always remember to cleanse and tone after you have washed your face. The mask should last on your face for 15 minutes.

Applying powder
Also when applying powder, Muganga recommends that you cleanse your face, tone and apply moisturiser first. Always use powder on a fresh face to avoid having a rough skin.
