THOUGH the cost of living is increasingly high, technology is improving and helps us cut down costs and simplify life. One such innovation is the rechargeable torch.

Gone are the days of dry cell torches.
A rechargeable torch is an electrical appliance that uses electricity to charge the battery. The torch comes with a slide two pin plug fixed at the bottom.

Godfrey Kawulukusi, a technician, explains that though people think buying a rechargeable torch is costly, it is cheap in the long run and is the appropriate way to save money.

“Unlike the ordinary torches, a rechargeable torch does not need battery replacement,” Kawulukusi affirms.

Recharge the battery by plugging the torch into the power. After four to five hours, the power indicator turns green, a sign that the battery is full.

He adds that the rechargeable torches have got a better light ouput as opposed to ordinary torches.

He advises that it is better to have the torch recharged after the battery has completely run down. While recharging switch off the torch to quicken the process of recharging.

While buying rechargeable torches, you will be spoilt for choice because shops and supermarkets are well stocked.
Thinking of a rechargeable torch for home use? A big size torch is ideal.

Though bulky, it will not inconvenience you since you can place it in one position to light a room. Secondly, it has a wider and better light output.

For those who travel a lot, a medium size torch is a better option because it will comfortably fit in your travel bags without inconveniencing you.

You can own a rechargeable torchfrom Kyalimanya Limited on Luwum Street at a price range of sh4,000 to sh8,000, depending on the size.

You can also get yourself one from the street vendors at a reasonable price after bargaining .
