Man smokes pot, hacks father to death

RESIDENTS of Koch-Goma sub-county in Amuru were left in shock on Monday when a 28-year-old man, Simon Acire hacked his 52-year-old father, John Okidi, to death.

Acire’s sister, Grace Atim who, witnessed the incident then grabbed the same panga and killed her brother.

Reports said Acire committed the crime after smoking marijuana (bangi). The Police arrested Atim for killing her brother.

The regional Police spokesman, Johnson Kilama, said: “The boy cut his father with a panga after smoking bangi; his sister knew that her brother was a bangi smoker but did not report to us.”

He appealed to the public to report drug abusers to the Police saying they were dangerous people.
